Course Outline

This course provides learners with the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions as well as the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost a person towards professional help.

This course is suitable for anyone who has an interest in mental health first aid and wants to learn more about how to start a conversation and sign post a person towards professional help.

Course Options, Costs and Dates

This training is a half day training course and can either be run as an open or in house training course. A certificate can be offered to all subject to assessment.

The assessment contains a range of methods including practical and questioning (open and multiple choice) A Level 1 in Awareness for First Aid for Mental Health will be issued to the learner, subject to full assessment. This qualification is valid for 3 years from the date of achievement, an annual refresher training is strongly recommended. The learner will need to complete the full course again to requalify for a further three years. All delegates must be a minimum age of 14 years old.

Venue: requirements in your workplace include: seating with tables; a wall/screen on which to show a laptop presentation; flip chart.
